A popular mooring site near beautiful Aegina, the island of Agistri is a perfect stopping-off point on any Greece sailing trip.

The Temple of Aphaia offers stunning views of the surrounding islands and the breath-taking Saronic Gulf. As with much of the architecture in and around Greece, the temple is archaeologically significant, with its Doric details some of the best preserved on any of the islands.

But if talk of a classically designed temple is enough to send you to sleep, then there are other things to enjoy here, because thrill-seeking tourists have found a way to combine this most traditional of Greek sight-seeing trips with a more modern approach – an approach which involves quad-bikes.

Hiring a quad-bike to access the temple can allow you to both beat the crowds and arrive in style. There are good deals available, and the majority of quad-bikes come with automatic controls that are easy to understand and use.

Once you have ascended to the temple, taken sanctuary in the shady trees and had a good look at the magnificent view, it’s time to make your way back down. The downhill route is full of exciting hairpin bends and ends at the small and friendly Agia Marina- the perfect place to relax after your quad-bike adventure.
