Croatia Sailing and Learning a New Skill

There is something truly special about a Croatia sailing holiday. Is it the luxurious feeling of boarding your own yacht? Perhaps it’s the pure sense of tranquillity that being on the sea provides? Or maybe it is the freedom of exploration that it allows? It is, of course, all these things, but it also leaves you with something more than a suntan when you arrive back home: it leaves you with the basic skills associated with sailing a boat.

Sailing in Croatia - Being shown the ropes

Firstly, taking an interest in how to sail the yacht counts as exercise – something that many of us feel guilty about not keeping up with when abroad. Not only that, knowing that helping with the boat’s maintenance and movement counts as exercise means that trying all the wonderful food and drink Croatia has to offer feels far less indulgent.

Secondly, even picking up basic sailing skills can make you feel as though you have achieved something of merit whilst also enjoying your holiday abroad. And making the most of the expert skippers who are there to guide you every step of the way really could see you broadening your horizons.

And this links neatly to the third benefit of such a vacation: who is to say that your first tentative steps in the basics of sailing won’t lead to something more, and one day you will be sailing single-handedly? Whether it does or doesn’t, one thing is for sure: making the most of the opportunities available when sailing Croatia’s seas is a must!
