Croatia sailing: Top night spots
For several years now Croatia has been making strides reinventing itself as a key European party destination. With two of its most popular locations – Dubrovnik and Split – separated by a gorgeous stretch of the Dalmatian coast – this is the perfect place to drink in the beauty of this friendly country by day, while sampling the best of its nightlife as the moon rises.
Hvar Town is a quirky, fairly frenetic port town, with some great bars and clubs, many of which are right on the beach. For a slightly slower pace, head to Trstenik, where you will come across some sophisticated venues including an exclusive beach night club which is reached via speedboat, James Bond style.
Korcula is a diminutive, fortified town, probably best known for its claim to be the location of Marco Polo?s birth. In common with many of locations in Croatia though, as night falls the fun starts, with multiple parties spilling onto the winding streets after dark leading to a peculiar but strangely compelling juxtaposition of ancient and modern.
The beautiful, seemingly endless beach at Makarska is the perfect backdrop to several busy bars and clubs. By day you can relax on this lovely stretch of sand then, by night, sample some the fabulous nightlife that this part of the country boasts.
Exploring Croatia sailing between the many destinations along its stunning coastline, is without doubt the finest way to experience the very best the country has to offer – at any hour of the day or night.
