One of the most exciting things about a Turkey sailing trip is the opportunity to visit the country’s famed bazaars. Stopping in Fethiye, you will be able to really experience the sounds, smells and colours of something truly Turkish.
Sailing in Turkey - tour the markets
Bazaars tend to be sprawling affairs, packed with a range of products both old and new. Whether you are after something authentically Turkish to snack on or you are looking for a gift for friends and family back home, these traditional markets can be the answer.

When you do visit the bazaar, there are certain local goods that you might want to keep an eye out for. There are brilliant soaps and toiletries made with local oils and ingredients, whilst genuine Turkish Delight should not be missed. And when you find what you are looking for, you may even want to engage in another traditional aspect of Turkish culture: haggling.

It’s not for everyone, but haggling can be a way of getting goods at a bargain price. The important thing to remember here is that haggling does not need to be aggressive. Approaching sellers with courtesy and respect is the best way to achieve your goals and make the most of the Turkish bazaar experience.
