Explore the Bays of Skopea Limani When Sailing Turkey’s Seas
There are many beautiful locations to be found when sailing around Turkey, but amongst the most picturesque are the bays on show in the Skopea Limani region.
All the bays share a feeling of sheltered seclusion, making the most of the natural abundance of pine trees that line the land and providing a genuine getaway from the pressures of everyday life. The area is understandably popular with both novice and experienced sailors, yet in spite of this the area manages to retain a real sense of traditional Turkey.
With plenty of bays to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start. Seagull Bay offers good access to the attractions on land. It is also a great place to rest when you want some respite from the warm Turkish sun, as fresh breezes blow through the cove by day and by night.
It may not sound like the most welcoming stop when you’re enjoying sailing Turkey’s seas, but Tomb Bay stands out amongst its Skopea counterparts. The name comes from the remarkable Lycian tombs of rock that sit above the bay itself. It’s a view that really shouldn’t be missed.
