Great news for those who have booked their Croatia sailing tour or Croatia vacation for 2013! Irish budget airline Ryanair recently announced the launch of its first base in Croatia.

This means Ryanair has launched seven new European routes to Zadar, raising the total number of routes in and out this Dalmatian city to 16.

The launch of this Ryanair base presents future fliers with significant travelling advantages. Travellers are now able to fly directly in and out of Liverpool, Dublin, Nottingham, Leicester or Derby- where previously the journey would have been extended with a stop over in London or would have necessitated guests to travel to London.

Commenting on the news of its first base in Croatia, Ryanair’s Michael Cawley said: “Ryanair is delighted to announce Zadar as our 54th base… and to unveil 7 new routes to/from Dublin, East Midlands, Gothenburg, Haugesund, Liverpool, Paris and Wroclaw, beginning in April as part of our summer 2013 schedule, which go on sale on www.ryanair.com tomorrow. They will accompany the airline’s existing nine routes already served from Zadar on a seasonal summer basis, totaling to up to 68 weekly flights. Ryanair will station an aircraft in the city and will launch the new services in April 2013.”

Zadar is an easy and short coach trip from Split, where MedSailors will meet you before your Croatia sailing tour departure. If you require any more information on these travel particulars, please let us know and we will gladly let you know our travel advice!
