Sometimes a holiday can feel a bit like hard work. But the stress of travelling to your destination and the pressure of late nights shouldn’t get in the way of you enjoying yourself. So if you feel like you need a truly relaxing interlude whilst on a Turkey sailing break, you should consider a traditional hammam.

Sailing Turkey - Taking the relaxing route to a holidayA hammam, or Turkish bath, has been much replicated in spas across the world, but there is nothing like experiencing the real thing in the real place. Traditional Turkish baths are wonderfully calm and relaxing places, and they are centred around the complete well-being of both the body and the mind.

Enjoying a hammam is also a great way to really indulge in the culture and history of Turkey. The word hammam itself means ‘hot water’, but this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the benefits that it brings.

The chief aim of a Turkish bath is to rid the body of any impurities. Through a combination of sauna-style steam rooms, invigorating massages and all-over body treatments, a hammam will leave you feeling completely rejuvenated.

So why not treat yourself? After all, what better way is there to prepare for more of those late nights soaking up the life and culture that Turkey has to offer?
