For those who plan to spend their holiday sailing Turkey, Kas is not one of Turkey’s best-known destinations, but it is nonetheless sure to form a highlight of your sailing holiday. The thing that makes Kas unique is the fact that, within a relatively small area, it has many of the charms that define Turkey as a whole:

Natural Beauty
Natural beauty is found in abundance in Kas. As well as a fantastic stretch of Turkey’s uniformly spectacular coast, there is the truly extraordinary Blue Cave. This unrivalled natural wonder is ideal for snorkelling. The natural beauty of the area extends not only to inanimate landscapes but to the wildlife as well. On the way there, you may see dolphins and turtles swimming through the water.

Culture and Tradition
One of the things that makes Turkey such a wonderful place to be is its incredible Eurasian culture. With a long and fascinating history, the country’s culture has amassed some fascinating traditions over the years. In the small and unspoilt fishing village of Kas, a unique aspect of this culture and many interesting traditions are all in evidence. Although a small fishing village may sound like a sedate place to be, there is also a decidedly lively air around the harbour.

Turkey’s history is long and glorious, and there are many wonderful structures and sites to enjoy. Close to Kas are some fascinating historic ruins from the country’s past. If you have even the slightest interest in history, these ruins will be a deeply enjoyable place to explore.
