There are many locations in Turkey that are great for sailing, but Gocek comes close to reaching perfection. A favourite with locals and tourists alike, this small Turkish town provides an ideal environment for setting sail.
Turkish towns - Seek sailing perfection
Gocek is one of a number of traditional Lycian towns on the Turkish coast, and as such, it is a great example of the country’s rich history. There are only around 500 houses in the town of Gocek itself, and as a result of carefully controlled conservation rules, these remain largely untouched by modernity. This, combined with a stunning natural backdrop of mountains and trees, makes Gocek one of the most desirable places to see when enjoying a Turkey sailing break.

If you are keen to do something on dry land in addition to enjoying the clear blue seas, there are plenty of places to eat and drink, with many on the waterfront itself. Standards here are high, and many restaurants really make the most of the fresh produce on offer.

But it is from the water that Gocek really must be seen, as few places can come close to the view that this ever-popular sailing haven has to offer.
