Sunset Spots On Sailing Holidays
“There’s never one sunrise the same or one sunset the same.” – Carlos Santana
This iconic guitar legend couldn’t have spoke truer words. And in no place is this more true than in the Mediterranean. Something special happens at sunset in the Mediterranean. The heat of the day mellows to a warm glow and the sea turns golden, while ashore the local taverns and bars light up, lights twinkling and BBQ’s smoking. MedSailors is lucky enough to spend 7 days a week during 4 months of the year watching the unique sunsets sailing Greece and Croatia, and we never get tired of them! Here are our favourite spots.
The first stop on our Croatia sailing tour, Sisela’s quiet tree framed bay is the perfect backdrop for a relaxing start to your holiday with sunset drinks and BBQ at the local restaurant.
There are fantastic local water-sports to try in this idyllic town, and with such warm Mediterranean waters you can wakeboard into the sunset!
This is a lively spot on the Greek island sailing tour, famed for the sunset. Here the local scene starts at a very relaxed pace and picks up around 9pm, so there is plenty time for sundowners on the seafront.
The bay is very protected and contains the warmest water in Croatia so get the most out of your sailing holiday by enjoying the sunset from the warm waters of the Adriatic sea.
This is probably the most deserted stop on our Greek island tour. You will love the quiet appreciation of a beautiful sunset in this area of outstanding natural beauty.
