Situated on the beautiful Aegean coastline, the city of Fethiye has long been a popular tourist destination, and it isn’t hard to see why it is a must-stop on any Turkey sailing adventure. With a welcoming climate, stunning scenery and plenty to see and do, it is a wonderful place to visit.

Sailing holidays in Turkey - Perfect town stopping points

A day out in Fethiye should start in the Old Town area, which is home to a range of shops and eateries to suit all tastes and pockets. With many bargains to be found, it is a great place to pick up souvenirs, and if you’re keen to take shelter from the midday sun, you’ll find no end of options when it comes to bars, cafes and restaurants – all of which offer the great taste of Turkey.

Away from the modern amenities of the town, there is also much to enjoy when it comes to delving into Turkey’s past. Fethiye is the location of a number of ancient tombs which are carved into the very rocks that surround the town. As you approach from the comfort of your own boat, it’s worth taking a moment to really admire how stunning a sight this is.

And as you would hope from somewhere on the Aegean coast, Fethiye has plenty of beautiful beaches too. With crystal-clear waters and golden sands, this is a great place to either rest and relax or to take part in some water-based activities – whatever you want, it’s up to you!
