One of the most exciting things about holidaying abroad is being able to relax with a drink in your hand whilst taking in the wonderful views. And when it comes to having plenty of choice, a holiday sailing Croatia’s seas really does have something for all tastes.

If beer is your drink of choice, you will find no end of opportunities to try something new. Known as ‘pivos’ in Croatia, two of the best-known and most popular types of beer are Osjecko and Karlovacko: the former has been brewed and drunk in Croatia for centuries, whilst the latter is a golden brew that promises real refreshment.

Holidays and cocktails go hand in hand, so it is no surprise that cafes and bars across the country offer plenty of choice in this area. Known as the official cocktail of Croatia, the ‘Crocktail’ is a must-try for anyone enjoying a sailing holiday. And when it comes to spirits, Rakija and Pelinkovac cannot be missed – one is a slightly bitter but pleasant drink, and the other has similarities to brandy, but both are perfect for the start of a night out in one of Croatia’s many hot spots.
