Croatia Sailing, Croatia Scooting!

Hiring a scooter is one of the best ways to explore the many locations you will visit on a Croatia sailing break. But for all the excitement involved in such an endeavour, it is also worth considering how to stay safe when you’re scooting around.

Getting around on Croatian sailing holidays - Renting scooters, bikes and more

Firstly, it goes without saying that indulging in a few cocktails or beers before zipping off on your scooter isn’t a good idea. Not only is it ill advised, but it is actually illegal to have any alcohol before operating a scooter in Croatia. So in order to avoid any trouble with the law, make sure you save any partying for after you’ve parked up.

Secondly, it’s a good idea to only hire scooters from a reputable source. Not only will this help protect you insurance-wise (if it is needed), but the best businesses will offer you guidance and instruction before you set off on your adventure.

Lastly, it is worth getting your head round some of the basic rules of the road in order to really enjoy your time on your scooter. It’s unlikely that you will be going fast enough for it to concern you, but make sure you keep an eye on speed limits nevertheless. Also, be aware that if you are scooting up or down a hill you need to give way to bigger road vehicles. If you keep all of this in mind, there’ll be nothing stopping you!
