How To Make The Most Out Of One Day In Dubrovnik, Croatia
The pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik is one of our all-time favourite destinations here at MedSailors HQ, and we’re pretty stoked to show you exactly why we love it so much on your Croatia island hopping adventure.
Start Slowly with a Morning Coffee
Croatian coffee culture is booming, and if you love starting your day by slowly making your way through your morning coffee, watching the world go by and planning how you’re going to spend the rest of your day, you’ll fit right into life in Dubrovnik.
See the City Walls on Your Croatia Island Hopping Adventure
You don’t have to walk their whole length if you don’t want to, but the views of both the city and the sea from the spectacular 12th century walls are well worth a look. You can also pretend you’re in Game of Thrones (so many of the series’ iconic scenes were filmed in Dubrovnik!) – don’t worry, we’ve all done it and we’re not embarrassed! Nope. Not even a little bit!
Stroll Down Stradun
Dubrovnik’s main street is lined with a wide variety of cafes and shops, and right at the end you’ll see the famous clock tower and beautiful Little Onofrio fountain, which dates back to the 15th century.
Wander Around Dubrovnik’s Museums and Galleries
Walking the city walls and taking in the beautiful architecture will have already given you a good idea of Dubrovnik’s ancient past, but a slow wander around the museums and art galleries will help you to understand a little more about this beautiful location’s complex recent history.
Soak in the Sea Views on Your MedSailors Holiday
With miles of stunning beaches and picture perfect views of the sparkling turquoise waters, spending an hour or two by the shore is 100% recommended and definitely a good use of your time. We highly recommend renting a kayak, and you get bonus points if you decide to eat in one of the restaurants on the promenade. Great food and great views. What more could you want?
