How To Snap Insta-Worthy Holiday Photos

By MedSailors Crew published on 16 August 2017

Whether just for your own memories or if at least part of you really wants to show off a bit to your mates back home, capturing some great snaps of your holiday is a must-do when you’re away. Here are some of our top tips for snapping insta-worthy pictures of your MedSailors adventure.

Sailing holidays with Insta-worthy snaps aplenty - Take pics to save the memories of your trip

Clean Your Lens!

Whether you’ve got a fancy DSLR or your phone doubles as your camera of choice, specks of dust and dirt can totally ruin all your photographs. Give your lens a wipe and you’re good to go!

Utilise your Camera’s Best Features

Experiment with the panoramic feature when faced with a sweeping landscape, and don’t forget about burst mode when you’re in amongst the action!

Lighting is Everything

Harsh midday sunshine is tricky to work with, which makes evenings and early mornings (which have the added bonus of helping you miss the majority of the crowds) prime photo taking time.

Become at One with Nature on Your MedSailors Vacay

A moody looking sky, reflections in water, or lens flare from sunshine peeking through trees can add an extra touch of magic. Seek out those walking trails, find those secluded coves and make the most of every place you visit.

Rule of Thirds

It’s a rule for a reason, although sometimes rules are made to be broken!

Those Angles, Though

If you’ve got to lie on the floor to get the perfect shot from just the right angle, well, that’s what you’ve got to do. You might feel a bit silly but the result will be worth it in the end.

Keep Snapping

Posed pictures are brilliant, but so are the candid ones of you and your mates just having a really great time.

It’s in the Edit

A good edit can transform a good snapshot into a dreamy image. Avoid whacking on lots of unnatural filters, instead experiment with brightness and saturation first. Our top tip is to do all your editing and then go back and reduce everything you’ve done by at least 50% for the perfect edit.
