Making the Most of Your Sailing Holiday
By MedSailors Crew published on 11 May 2015
There is nothing quite like a holiday sailing on beautiful blue seas under sunny skies. And you can make even more of the experience by learning new skills, such as snorkelling.
If you have never snorkelled before, the prospect of plunging into the great unknown can be somewhat daunting. But as long as you are being looked after by a knowledgeable instructor with all the right equipment, the experience will no doubt be a positive one. It is all about having the right state of mind: approach it in a relaxed way, and you are sure to have a great time.
Although it can be tempting to quite literally jump in quickly when it comes to soaking up your first snorkelling experience, it is really important to take it slowly at first. It takes a lot of energy, so making sure you keep something back at the start is a must. Breathing slowly, swimming at a comfortable speed and knowing your limits will mean that you will be able to soak up every second of the unforgettable experience.
Following this advice will allow you to truly enjoy the peace and tranquillity snorkelling can bring in the middle of a jam-packed sailing holiday.
