Modern Meets Traditional When Sailing Croatia

When it comes to holiday destinations, we can be a little bit picky. For though many holiday-goers often seek an ‘authentic’ or ‘traditional’ location for their getaway, they also want the benefit of all the mod-cons that make travel that bit more comfortable. In the heart of Croatia’s party central Hvar, Stari Grad offers a little bit of both. Indeed, for many, it is where modern and traditional Croatia combine.

Whilst much of Hvar is famed for its nightlife, Stari Grad is generally a little more sedate. But don’t make the mistake of understanding sedate as a by-word for dull. Yes, the deep blue bays and lush pine forests make for some stunning scenery, but there is more to Stari Grad than just its picture-perfect surroundings.

With the cooling Mistral wind offering some respite on even the hottest of days, Stari Grad is an oasis of calm in the middle of a fast-paced world. If you are looking for somewhere tranquil to pass the time whilst sailing Croatia’s seas, you’ll find this to be the perfect place for unwinding.

There are beautiful monuments to discover, the ferry station to explore and the stunning beach of Lanterna to enjoy. And if all of that seems a bit too slow-paced, the party town of Hvar is just around the corner.
