The Benefits of a Croatia Sailing Break
By MedSailors Crew published on 17 June 2015
A sailing holiday has too many benefits to list in one go. But aside from the freedom it allows, the relaxation of being on board or the sheer luxury associated with such a getaway, there is something else that such a vacation has to offer – and that is learning to sail the boat itself.
It won’t be for everyone, but it is worth considering that island-hopping around the coast of Croatia sailing the boat yourself could lead to lifelong skills. Of course, you won’t be allowed to simply take control. Any sailing must be under the tutelage of an expert sailor, but doing so can add the icing on the cake to an already unforgettable holiday.
For example, a little light sailing can be your exercise whilst abroad, meaning you won’t feel so guilty about making the most of the local food and drink. You can choose whether you would rather your exercise consists of light exertion or a real physical workout, but either will benefit both mind and body.
And side from the sheer exhilaration of being the ‘skipper’ of your own vessel, these early sailing experiences might lead on to bigger and better things. Who knows? Next time you go sailing abroad, it might even be in your own boat.
