Top Island Hopping Activities in Greece & Croatia
By Ryan Brown published on 19 May 2025
Your island-hopping trip in the Mediterranean is fast approaching, and you can almost feel that oh-so-satisfying sea breeze on your face. Maybe you’ve even begun packing for your adventure, or you’ve got the countdown ticking away on your phone with anticipation.
As you sail Croatia and Greece, you’ll have heaps of awesome activities and excursions to get stuck into. The full spectrum of activities awaits to match your vibe (and maybe even break out of your comfort zone) from chill, outdoorsy, cultural, foodie, party, and adrenaline.
With all of those options, it could stoke a bit of choice anxiety. Deep breaths, we’ve got you! Below are our top favourite activities to look forward to on your upcoming sail week with MedSailors.

Best Watersports in Greece & Croatia:
Poros, Greece - Athens Voyager
You may have done watersports before, but not like this. The family-run watersports has been a part of the MedSailors experience from the beginning, and they truly make it one helluva good afternoon. Have a (free!) beer on the floating dock watching the crew getting whipped around while you wait your turn on the crazy couch, wild sea-biscuits, or a parasailing session overlooking ancient ruins nearby.
Parga, Greece - Corfu Discovery
How about zipping around a bay on a jet ski surrounded by high mountains, golden sand beaches, and a formidable hilltop fortress to gawk at? On the Corfu Discovery route, you can live out this unique scenario or several other watersports, all with the incredible backdrop of past Venetian glory.
Dubrovnik Kayaking - Croatia Voyager
This one may not get your adrenaline spiking, but kayaking beneath the towering walls of Dubrovnik is unforgettable all the same. It’s one of the most breathtaking ways to take in the sheer scale and grandeur of the Old Town’s fortifications — especially for fans of Game of Thrones chasing those King’s Landing views and GOT filming locations. It’s a mini workout, too, but we recommend going early morning or late afternoon when the water’s calm and the golden light hits just right.

Best Nature Activities on a MedSailors Trip:
Mljet National Park - Croatia Voyager
Bike or hike around one of Croatia’s most beautiful natural parks, all just minutes away from the yacht. Mljet Island is a protected natural reserve with Croatia’s only coral reef, and two large turquoise saltwater lakes to explore on a pretty easy loop track. We’re all about the e-bikes, which make it a breeze to cruise around the lakes with time to spare for swimming, chilling out, and visiting the island monastery.
Tripitos Arch - Corfu Discovery
A "wonder of nature" is putting it lightly, and well worth breaking a little sweat for. On the already shockingly stunning island of Paxos, take a short 30-45 minute walk from the yacht through ancient olive groves to the awe-inspiring Tripitos Arch. A rock arch formed over millions of years, you can walk across for a rush, or take a break on the cliffside to watch a brilliant sunset over the Ionian Sea.
Agistri Blue Lagoon - Athens Voyager
While the Blue Lagoon of Agistri is fringed with parasols and cocktail bars, the bay itself is next-level stunning. With its neon-blue hue and warm, calm waters, swimming here feels like stepping into a postcard. But if you want to level up the nature vibes, hop on an e-bike and cruise the pine-lined coastal roads. This tiny island is packed with hidden beaches, scenic viewpoints, and a wild beauty that makes every turn worth the ride. It’s the perfect blend of chill and adventure.

Best Party Spots in the Croatian & the Greek Islands:
Hvar Town Nightlife - Croatia Voyager
Hvar has made a name for itself as one of the best music and nightlife destinations in the Mediterranean, which is no easy feat given the world-renowned clubs and music festivals across Europe. While this whimsical fortified Venetian town captivates in the daylight, the nightlife is the stuff of legends. After sunset cocktails at Hula Hula Bar seaside, have a dance in famous ruin bars like Kiva Kiva, before capping off the night with a bartender fire show and silent disco in Seven Sins bar.
Agistri Greek Party - Athens Voyager
What better way to cap off a week around the Greek islands than putting on your best and dancing the night away with your crew in a town Athenians ferry to weekly for a party? Agistri is known for its pristine beaches and blue lagoons, but also as MedSailors' biggest finale, where you’ll learn Greek dancing, have a mezze feast, smash plates with the locals, and hit the cliffside club to dance until dawn.
Paxos - Corfu Discovery
Paxos may be small, but it packs a punch when the sun goes down. After a lazy day of swimming, snorkelling, or paddleboarding, head into Lakka or Gaios to see the island transform. The marina-side Greek disco bars come alive with throwback bangers, budget-friendly cocktails, and that classic island-party energy. They might be a little cliché — neon lights, ABBA remixes, and all — but they’re outrageously fun. Grab your crew, hit the dance floor, and let the good vibes take over. It’s island nightlife at its most charmingly chaotic.

Top Greece and Croatia Adventure Activities:
Quad/E-Bike Gaios - Corfu Discovery
One of the best ways to see the entirety of Paxos’ beaches and coves is to hop on a quad or an e-bike and spend the day exploring. You’ll find secluded coves, hidden beaches, stunning sea caves, and off-the-beaten-path villages as you cruise through ancient olive groves and winding roads across this wild island.
Scuba Diving Epidavros - Athens Voyager
If you’ve been aching to try scuba diving, Greece is one of the best places for your first time. Around the storied coastline of Epidavros, you’ll get the chance to take your first scuba foray in bays written about in Greek mythology and Homer’s epics. And the price point is stellar for this kind of excursion, with a dive here being cheaper than most of coastal Europe.
Quads / Scooters - Korcula
Korcula Island as a whole is often missed out on because most of the attention goes to the fantastical fortified old town -- often referred to as “Little Dubrovnik”. But the rest of the island is well worth discovering, and scooters or quads are the best way to do it. Ride through winding roads lined by boutique vineyards and stop as often as you desire for a taste of Dalmatian charcuterie or the island’s wine specialities. Or find a secret beach for a swim stop or three. Top tip: You’ll need at least an international licence to rent a scooter or quad.

Epic Sunset Spots in Croatia & Greece:
Hydra Acropolis - Athens Voyager
Hydra Town is a marvel, but getting a bird's-eye view of the Jenga-stacked villas crawling up the rugged mountains will bring it into a stunning new perspective. Head with the crew on a short walk to a hilltop crowned with old ruins and a Greek flag to see a fiery sunset over the shimmering Aegean. Grab gyros and a cold drink to crack open at the top as you take in the views.
Loviste Bay - Croatia Voyager
The quaint seaside village of Loviste has all of the old world charm you can want, and a lot to offer for the sunset-hunters. While this night is one of the more chill evenings on MedSailors Croatia routes, it’s perfect for grabbing a table by the water to take in the crimson and gold sunset with a cold sundowner. And it makes for a killer Insta-worthy photo opp.
Plataria - Corfu Discovery
Another small seaside village with a lot to offer for sunset lovers, this crescent-shaped inlet lined with high mountains holds one of the best sunset views on our MedSailors Greece routes. Grab a table at the dockside tavernas to feast under the warm, golden hour glow, or grab a paddleboard and your mates for a sunset session on the water that you’ll never forget.

Best Historical Experiences on MedSailors:
Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus - Athens Voyager
History lovers, this is the main event when it comes to marvels of Greek antiquity. The world’s oldest, largest, and most intact Greek theatre, this is a must-visit in Epidavros, whether you’re a history fanatic or not. Visit the sprawling complex of ancient Greece’s healing centre that will leave you more awe-struck than the Parthenon.
Hvar Fortress - Croatia Voyager
Dating back to the 16th century, this imposing fortress from the glory days of the Venetian Empire holds unmatched views of the Pakleni islands and the historic town below. Now known as Fortica or the Spanish Fortress, you can wander the ramparts, grab envy-inducing vacay photos, or have a cold cocktail for a historic sunset drink to remember.
Parga Castle - Corfu Discovery
Perched high on a rocky outcrop, this hilltop Venetian castle (seriously, the Venetians really got around) looks out over the pastel-coloured villas of Parga and the beach-lined bay below. Built in the 15th century and later shaped by the Ottomans, it’s a fortress with layers — both literally and historically. Wander through crumbling archways and winding staircases as you climb to the top, where the view at golden hour is pure magic, and a historic experience you’ll want to bottle and keep forever.

Where to Find the Best Cocktails on Your MedSailors Trip:
Thanos Cocktail Bar - Athens Voyager
We’ve raved about Thanos’ masterful cocktails in a story of his own, but it’s always worth another mention! To wrap up the first official full day together on the Athens Voyager, we rendezvous at his sunset bar perched on a coastline mentioned in the Iliad, for drinks crafted with his passion for cocktail perfection. Sip spicy margs, twists on tropical classics, or the Thanos special while you get to know the rest of the crew.
Massimo’s - Croatia Voyager
Quite possibly one of the coolest cocktail bars in the world, Massimo’s is our fave Korcula sundowner spot with a twist. This is an ancient defensive turret, and you need to climb a ladder from inside to reach the top. Drinks come up by pulley, with themed cocktails like the Kingslayer or King of the North to choose from. Sit atop this fortification looking out over the Adriatic with your flotilla mates at sunset for the most unique bar experience in the Med.
Veranda Bar - Corfu Discovery
Don’t you just love a good view? And this is one of the best in our minds. Veranda bar is perched above Parga Town so you can watch as the streets come to life when the sun goes down. Stellar cocktails mixed with unbelievable views, the occasional live music show, and the great company of your flotilla fam create the perfect vibe.

Unmissable Cultural & Foodie Experiences in Croatia & Greece:
Hora Farm Wine & Peka - Croatia Voyager
Imagine this: You and the crew sat at a UNESCO-protected winery surrounded by endless vineyards and lavender plants, sipping Hvar’s famous wines and tasting Croatia’s most traditional dish. Here you’ll wrap the week on Croatia Dubrovnik Voyager with a wine tasting and delicious peka — a slow-cooked traditional family meal of meat, fish, or veggies. Wander the organic farm, wine in hand, before the mouthwatering meal comes out with everything produced on the farm itself.
Monganisi Greek Dancing - Corfu Discovery
The family that runs the taverna in Monganisi have a flair for showing off their heritage in style. And fire. After dining right beside the beach in this secluded cove, the real fun begins. You’ll learn Greek and Paxos-specific dances before a fire dance and show of other traditions passed down in the family. Get up and get involved in a cultural experience that is a helluva good time and will leave you laughing the night away.
Greek Night - Athens Voyager
To finish your week in the Saronic islands, we feast together in Agistri at a hilltop taverna, taking you through different stages of Greek traditions throughout dinner. Wrap up in a toga or your best linens, listen to live music, and learn Greek and island dances. And we can’t forget the ever-so-fun finale — plate smashing. It’s a night of cultural fun and hilarity to remember.

Bonus: Sail Croatia and Greece, Your Way
What’s one of the best things about MedSailors? The sailing, obviously — but even better, you’ve got three unforgettable regions to choose from across the Mediterranean. Chase sunsets and medieval fortresses in Croatia, dive into island culture and ancient ruins in Athens’ Saronic Gulf, or uncover sea caves and pastel harbours in Corfu’s Ionian Isles. Each route offers its own flavour, vibe, and secret spots — and there’s no better way to explore than by yacht, island-hopping one epic swim stop at a time.
