Top Tips for Always Sniffing Out the Best Authentic Eateries
Food is often one of the very best elements of a stand-out holiday. Whether you’re a true foodie at heart or just appreciate a genuinely delicious plate of food to fuel your body, here are a few of our top tips for locating the best places to eat during your sailing trip.
Ask A Local
Fiercely proud of their local cuisine, asking local residents for personal recommendations is often the best way to find hidden gems that might be so tucked away you would never have discovered them otherwise.
Look for Online Reviews
Just make sure that you don’t let any single poor review completely put you off eating somewhere you’ve heard a lot of other great things about. Take every review with a pinch of salt and select somewhere that has a menu that sounds unmissable.
Stroll Beyond the Main Streets on your Sailing Trip
You’ll undoubtedly find some incredible eateries in the centres of the towns and villages we will visit throughout our itinerary (it’s part of the reason why we’ve chosen them!) However, there are also so many incredible restaurants nestled in quiet side streets with specialities that you’ll never forget for all the right reasons.
The Most Unlikely Locations Often Have the Most Incredible Food
It can be a bit worrying how quickly it’s possible to discount somewhere because of its location and/or décor. We’re pretty sure we’ve all done it at some point but we want to make sure that you don’t have any food regrets on your MedSailors adventure. Not every eatery needs to be Pinterest perfect or ultra-Instagrammable and it’s actually often the most unassuming places that have the best menus.
Be Savvy, Always!
It’s worth remembering that you don’t need to drop a lot of cash to eat like royalty. Price isn’t always an indicator of quality and being savvy with your approach to food will always stand you in good stead. Follow your stomach and we’re certain you’ll stumble across an array of delicious dishes throughout your island adventure.
