Who Is a Greece Sailing Holiday For?
By MedSailors Crew published on 9 February 2015
It’s a simple and undeniable fact: not every experience is right for every single person on the planet. This is even true of Greece sailing holidays , and you might wonder whether this is really the right type of holiday for you.
It’s true that nothing is suitable for everyone, but sailing holidays in Greece seem to come about as close as possible. They are suitable for a diverse range of people.
Beach-Lovers
If there’s one thing Greece has always had in abundance, it’s world-class beaches. The Mediterranean Sea and warm climate are perfectly complemented by plenty of sandy stretches. Beach-lovers will enjoy the coastlines of Aegina Island, Spetses and Hydra in particular.
Foodies
While sailing in Greece, you will find some truly amazing dishes to sample. Some of the finest food in Greece, along with some equally fine cocktails, can be found in Poros. Perdika is home to truly splendid seafood, while Athens is the place to find charming little cafes.
History Buffs
No trip to Greece – one of the superpowers of the ancient world – would be complete without exploring at least some of the country’s history. The Acropolis of Athens, complete with the Parthenon, is one of the most famous historic sites in the world. The ruined Temple of Aphaia and the Cathedral of Agios Nikolaos are similarly spectacular.
The Adventurous
There is plenty of scope for adventure on a Greek sailing holiday. Exciting water sports and the deep waters of secluded bays are all open to tourists. If you are both adventurous and a history buff – a bit of an Indiana Jones – you can explore the ruins of the Temple of Aphaia from the saddle of a quad bike.
